We’re changing the way we’re delivering services at Deception Bay and Margate in the coming months.
This is part of a larger service delivery development and changes that will ensure we can continue to provide high quality, culturally appropriate services to our fast-growing community.
We are strengthening and growing our workforce, including bringing our local doctors and primary healthcare teams together to increase our services, while we also focus on recruiting new doctors and staff.
What will happen?
- From late June, our Deception Bay GPs and primary healthcare team (nurses, receptionists, and primary healthcare workers) will come together with our team at the Margate Clinic.
- More GP appointments will be available at Margate than we would be able to offer across both clinics.
- Many of our allied health services and specialist programs will move from Margate to Deception Bay.
- Mental health and wellbeing services will remain in both clinics.
- There will be more transport services to support access to Moreton ATSICHS services across the region.
We understand you will have some questions, and this may cause some inconvenience. We will contact clients who are impacted by the changes and do what we can to support you during this change. In the meantime, if you have any questions please reach out to your local clinic.
Strengthening and growing our workforce
Dr Mark Berry is taking on the role of Clinical Director for Moreton ATSICHS, which is great news for us and our community.
Dr Mark has been supporting our community for nearly 10 years. In this role he will continue to support clients as a GP and lead the development of Moreton ATSICHS clinical services and team.
Dr Mark will support the team at Margate and boost the learning and development of our local doctors, support local clients, and focus on recruiting and growing GPs across Moreton ATSICHS.
What else is happening?
Our community is growing, and Moreton ATSICHS has been growing services and access in response to your goals and feedback.
- Our Strathpine clinic recently moved to a larger space which means we now offer paediatric (bubs and jarjum) services, heart specialist outreach, mental health and wellbeing, and our usual clinic services all in one place for our local community.
- We recently opened a specialist clinic near our GP clinic in Caboolture, making more services easier to access locally.
- Birthing in our Community has also expanded services within the Caboolture hub.
- We are expanding Staying Deadly, mental health our way, with a new hub coming to Caboolture and a new youth service for Deception Bay.
- Our Morayfield team are also working on new ways to improve and grow our local services.
- A large new health service hub will be built in Dakabin, opening in the next couple of years!
